possibillity to run a screensaver only on the second Monitor?

Hey Guys,

is there someone who knows a way to run a screensaver only on the second ( 3. ) Monitor?

In my opinion... this is with Windows options not possible?

Have a System with 3 Monitors:

1.+ 2. are cloned together >> Main Monitor + TV

3. is my second Monitor on the desk and the Monitor which i mean.

I want to show a picture in fullscreen but animated.

So a full HD Gif would be also possible...

Is there a Software which is able to do that?

If you know a solution i would be very happy for an answer.

This is not important, but I'am interested because this is a question in the www with less solutions.

Only a Prg. named Ultramon, but it's expensive and shouldn't work in this case ( according to some other people which tried that )

Thank you and greetings to all.

Nail

I know you can use Wallpaper Engine and set an animated wallpaper for just that screen. But as for a screensaver, as far as I know windows and software based screensavers go away once any activity is seen on the PC

Hello Nail,

i think this is not possible with windows options. But there is a another way which you can do that.

The trick is that you convert your gif into a video file. After that a program names Deskscapes will set this video as your background. In this way you have an animated background. You have on Deskscapes a 30 day trial at first but you can also buy the full version for 8 Dollars.  (Maybe you can find also an cracked version idk). It worked on me so i will show you step by step.

Step 1: Visit this site for converting your gif in video file (wmv): https://video.online-convert.com/convert-to-wmv

Step 2: Browse and choose your gif file.

Step 3: Convert gif

Step 4: Download and save video file

Step 5: Creat a folder in any location (e.g Desktop) on your PC and put the video within it.

Step 6: Download and install trial version of DeskScapes: https://www.stardock.com/products/deskscapes/download

5.png

Step 7: Open DeskScapes, click on settings, choose folder and than click on "Add"

6.png

Step 8: Select your folder with the video file from step 5 and click OK.

Step 9: Select your added folder, click OK and finally press on "Apply to my desktop"7.png

Now you should have your converted gif on your background.

But i don't know if DeskScapes can set only your second monitor with your animation. But i will try this if i am back home this weekend.

Hope it was helpful.

Hi,

many thanks both for your answer. :)

looks nice what you posted Delta, i will have a look to this programm.

With "Ultramon" it should be  allegedly possible to split wallpapers and screensavers for multi monitoring, but i don't know this program, only read from in the internet.

I think the main problem would be, that only the second monitor should have bubbles ( for example ) during i use the main monitor?

for an explanation:

My second monitor is an 22" LCD Monitor from Iiyama and showed me in full screen the rules + the main commands which i need in game.

So i was thinking this picture could caused a "burn in" on this monitor?

LED monitors don't have this problem. ( my main monitor 24" LED from Iiyama )

So i need a gif in a good solution with moved bubbles, rain etc.?

A Video would be take to much ram?

Sorry for my bad english, hope your understanding  :D

hehe

I did that once it didnt eat much ram, if you have alot of cores and high ghz speed with plenty of ram you should be fine. Btw im using laptop so yeah ur should be faster. Im still using 8 gb ram 1600 mhz DDR3

I have tried different ways - as gif also as looped video file...

and i was surprised!   O.o

The looped video file use only 0,5% CPU and 73MB Ram

A simple picture use 0% CPU and 104MB Ram

an animated Gif use 2,5% CPU and 116MB Ram

I've never thought before that a gif uses more capacity as a video file.

So ok, have found my solution!  :D

generally speaking there is no difference in the screen between standard LED monitors which are LCD with LED backlighting and LCD monitors, you may be getting confused over the comparatively new OLED tech which has potential for burnin.

so chances are you do not actually need a screen saver.
